Steel structure buildings are lightweight and quick to construct, but steel's high thermal conductivity easily leads to problems such as cold winters and hot summers, as well as high indoor noise. Glass wool, as a lightweight inorganic insulation material, has become the mainstream solution for steel structure roofing and wall insulation. Made from molten glass fibers, glass wool is lightweight and flexible, with a wide range of densities to choose from. Its low installation load does not significantly increase the load-bearing pressure on the steel structure, making it perfectly suited for light steel frame factories, large stadiums, logistics warehouses, and other similar buildings.

Glass wool rolls are often laid in conjunction with steel structure purlins as the inner layer of the roof. The fiber structure traps air, achieving highly efficient thermal insulation. In summer, it blocks sunlight from entering the interior, and in winter, it reduces heat loss, significantly lowering the operating load on factory ventilation and temperature control equipment. Simultaneously, its excellent sound absorption properties absorb noise generated by fans and production equipment, optimizing the factory's acoustic environment. The material's good flexibility allows it to be cut and bent, adapting to irregularly shaped steel structures and greatly improving construction efficiency.

Unlike rigid insulation boards, glass wool's flexible structure can adapt to slight deformations in steel structures, making it less prone to cracking and detachment. In some projects, it is used in conjunction with moisture-proof and breathable facings to balance insulation and moisture protection needs, preventing internal condensation from corroding steel structural components. Currently, a large number of newly built warehouses, exhibition halls, and livestock sheds utilize glass wool insulation systems. Its lightweight and cost-effective advantages allow glass wool to continue to hold a significant share of the steel structure building insulation market.
