In underfloor heating systems, XPS boards are laid on top of the floor structure, preventing heat conduction downwards and avoiding heat loss to the lower floors, thus improving heating efficiency and reducing energy consumption. The boards have strong compressive strength, capable of withstanding long-term compression from backfill layers and floor loads, and are not easily deformed, ensuring the long-term stable operation of the underfloor heating system.
Besides residential and public building underfloor heating projects, XPS boards are widely used for insulation of underground garages, basement floors, and side walls.
